It is now available, on the event website, the program of the XXXIX Brazilian Congress of Soil Science that will be held from September 21 to 27, at the Convention Center of the Federal University of Maranhão, in the city of São Luís (MA).

The program was thought by the organizers from the central theme “Soil Use and Climate Change”.  Interventions of national and international researchers who will seek to relate the use and management of natural solo resource with growing concern for global climate change. The central role that soil plays as a source and as a carbon sink will be one of the topics covered, as well as the importance of good management practices as an essential strategy for mitigating the impacts of climate change on agrosilvipastoral production. In this scenario, proper use and management of the soil play a relevant role to ensure production in the face of the new challenges imposed by the global climate in transformation.

One of the news of XXXIX will be the 1st Soil Competition of Brazil, which will challenge teams formed by students and teachers from all over the country to know the soils and landscapes of the region and to carry out, in the field, the identification, classification and interpretation of morphological, physical, chemical and biological attributes, determining the limitations, use potential and the management recommendations of the sites evaluated during competition.
