It is with great pleasure that the Brazilian Society of Soil Science (SBCS) announces the recipient of the Antônio Carlos Moniz Medal of Merit in Soil Science 2025: Professor Nilton Curi, from the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA)!

The Antônio Carlos Moniz Medal is awarded by the SBCS every two years, during the Brazilian Congresses of Soil Science, to a professional who has made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of the field in Brazil.

This year, Professor Nilton Curi was recognized for his exemplary scientific career, marked by consistent academic output, a strong commitment to the training of qualified professionals, and important contributions across various subfields of Soil Science.

Throughout his career, Professor Curi has distinguished himself in teaching, research, and outreach, becoming a national reference and an inspiration for new generations of soil scientists.

The SBCS congratulates Professor Nilton Curi on this well-deserved honor and expresses its gratitude for his dedication to building a strong, innovative, and socially committed Soil Science in service of the country’s development.
