A Technical Note prepared by researchers from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) and the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA) was presented to the Brazilian Soil Science Society (SBCS) during a Net Zero event held at the Federal University of Viçosa.

The document compiles technical and scientific evidence to support discussions with the relevant authorities, such as Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), contributing to the development of guidelines for the registration, production, storage, commercialization, transportation, and agronomic use of biochar in Brazil.

This initiative highlights the importance of collaboration among the scientific community, institutions, and the productive sector to advance sustainable solutions for Brazilian agriculture.
